While interning at Owens - Illinois, I was on the design team in partnership between Owens - Illinois (O-I) and The Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative (OBRC). Together, we reimagined refillable bottles in the United States. Together we produced bottles that can be used over and over again, a new green initiative.

 

With this collaborative project I assisted in developing the overall shape of the bottle as well as the idea for purposeful ware over time. Part of my contribution was the branding of the bottle with the embossed BottleDrop logo on the shoulder and the debossed design of  “Refillable” and “Please Return” on the heel of the bottle. The wording was intentionally placed at wear points so over time the design would become more prominent. With prominence comes pride in knowing by one reused bottle the consumer is changing the world.
